According to statistics, the output value of the packaging industry increased from 27.937 billion yuan in 1989 to 250 billion yuan in 2002. From 1989 to 2002, the output value of the packaging industry in China increased as shown in the figure on the left. The development of China's packaging industry structure is becoming more and more reasonable. The proportion of glass packaging products with high energy consumption has decreased significantly. Paper packaging has risen significantly. “Environmental protection” and “green” packaging products are increasingly attracting the attention of people in the industry and consumers. . In just 10 years, the total output value of China's packaging industry has grown from more than 20 billion yuan to more than 200 billion yuan, an increase of nearly ten times. It can be said that China's packaging industry has only used more than 10 years to complete the half-century journey of the developed countries.
The great changes in the packaging industry in China have been attributed to a series of major decisions made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Jiang Zemin as the core in the past 13 years. For example, glass packaging products fell from 6.08 million tons in 1995 to 4.52 million tons in 2000. The packaging of paper products with low energy consumption increased from 6.42 million tons in 1995 to 13 million tons in 2000.
Fourth, China's packaging industry attaches great importance to the development and development of environmentally-friendly packaging products, and “green” has become a major topic in the packaging industry. The popularization of pulp molded tableware, the application of biodegradable plastics, the promotion of honeycomb paperboard, and the development of “paper and wood” packaging materials have become more and more popular among packaging users and consumers.
Fifth, the system and operating mechanism of the packaging industry in China are constantly changing. The marketization process of the packaging industry is accelerating.
