Japan developed a microsphere additive

Two Japanese companies have recently developed microsphere plastic additives that can reduce product density, increase thermal insulation and sound insulation, and are suitable for foaming PVC, SBS and EVA resins.
The microsphere additive masterbatch Dainfoam V is composed of a thermoplastic shell with good air tightness and a hydrocarbon liquid (pentane or ethane) coated with it. The hydrocarbon liquid is blended in the EVA carrier resin and is manufactured by Osaka. Kaneka and Tokyo's Dainichiseika Pigments and Chemicals Co., Ltd. cooperated with two other similar technology manufacturers to conduct research and development. It is more suitable for PVC plastic paste than chemical foaming agent. It can control foaming process at lower temperature and obtain homogeneous closed-cell structure foamed products. This new technology is suitable for a variety of processing processes, including injection molding, extrusion, and tape-casting, without the need to retrofit the equipment and use conventional processing equipment. Dainichiseika's development goal is 2005 masterbatch sales of 8.5 million US dollars.
