Easter Cards Craft For Kids

I recently came across a delightful Easter craft project that doubles as another fun item. My daughters absolutely love creating bead suncatchers and bracelets, and I thought these would be a lovely addition to our Easter decorations. This craft is fantastic for improving fine motor skills, especially for younger children who might find threading onto string challenging. Using pipe cleaners instead of string makes it much easier. Another thing I appreciate about this project is how minimal the materials are, and it’s surprisingly mess-free—provided you don’t accidentally drop the beads! To create these Easter suncatchers, you’ll need: - Pony beads in spring colors - Letter beads - Pipe cleaners - Ribbon - Cardstock The preparation is straightforward. I simply laid out the materials and bent the pipe cleaners into an egg shape. The girls then threaded the pony beads onto the pipe cleaners. They needed a bit of assistance to ensure the letters spelled "Easter" correctly. Once the egg shapes were complete, they looked stunning. We followed a color pattern, but you can thread the beads randomly for a similarly beautiful effect. Afterward, we tied some ribbon to the top and hung them by the window. They sparkled beautifully in the sunlight. You could make several of these, each saying something different. To turn them into cards, we taped the suncatchers onto pieces of cardstock. While it looked gorgeous as a card, it was a bit too heavy to mail easily. After finishing the suncatchers, my daughter, Charlotte, had a brilliant idea to make an Easter chick. She’s been fascinated with the chicks at school since they hatched. Charlotte picked out lots of yellow pony beads to create her chick. Luckily, we had just enough. I formed two circles with yellow pipe cleaners for the body and head, and she threaded the beads on, adding a gold bead for the eye. Then we used orange pipe cleaners for the beak and feet. This version doesn’t hang as well but makes a charming card. We finished it off with some Easter foam stickers. All in all, these crafts took us about half an hour to complete, and they’re sure to bring a splash of springtime cheer to any window or mantelpiece.
