The top five brands accounted for about 88% of the market, with HP ranking first with about 40% market share, and Samsung and Fuji Xerox ranked second and third with 18% and 11% respectively. Canon, Brother, Lenovo, Ricoh and Lexmark have market shares of 10%, 9.2%, 6.3%, 1.5% and 0.7%, respectively.
According to the First Financial Report, HP sold 136,000 desktop printers through the e-commerce platform such as Tmall and Jingdong during the “Double 11†period. Canon and Epson sold 52,000 and 23,000 units respectively. Fuji Xerox sold about 13,000 units.
With its advantages in the low-end market, HP has occupied the number one position in the Chinese market for many years. In the high-end market products, such as A3 digital copiers, Fuji Xerox and other brands are more dominant. According to IDC, Fuji Xerox has more than half of the market share of high-end color printers in Japan, China and other Asian regions.
