Basel launches new HDPE production catalyst

Basell, a world-famous polyolefin producer, recently announced that they are introducing a new type of catalyst for the production of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) under the trade name Avant C. Avant C catalyst is a series of chromium metal catalysts that can be used in gas phase and slurry HDPE production processes. The use of this catalyst can produce ethylene homopolymers and can also produce copolymers of ethylene and alpha-olefins. The resin polymer prepared using this chromium metal series catalyst has a wide range of molecular weight distribution and is suitable for use as a raw material for blow molding, pipe materials, and films. Basel is currently producing this new type of catalyst in Ferrara, Italy, Seneffe, Belgium, Frankfurt, Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Edison, New Zealand, and will be available soon.
