1. Select paper through coating
The coating is important for paper. Let's explain it here: There is a kind of paper that is coated paper. There are many holes in the middle of the coated paper to absorb ink. Its porosity is large, no matter what kind of ink can be absorbed. However, after the ink's moisture evaporates, these pores become an unobstructed channel for air to enter, so the photos printed on coated paper fade faster. Coatings on coated papers are not yet strong, and they can be thrown off when lightly stroked, and they cannot be protected by lamination. There is also a diffuse reflection caused by its surface roughness, which makes the maximum density of photographs not reach a very high level, usually only reaching the level of 1.6, sometimes reaching 2.0 with special black ink.

Print papers developed with coated paper as the basic technology are known by many as silty coated paper. Although the degree of ink dot diffusion is different, their defects are common.

The reason why the glossy photo paper for printing is better than the coated paper is that the coating used is not the same. Most of the coatings used today are high-molecular organic compounds. When a drop of ink drips onto the top, the coating swells significantly after absorbing water. The thick printing paper has strong ink-absorbing ability, and the diffusion to the horizontal is also small. The printing paper can be printed with a relatively large amount of ink and the printed picture is clear. sharp. Therefore, when selecting the paper, you should choose a thicker coating.

2. Select paper by particle size
Studies have shown that the more severe the dot spread, the finer the paper particles appear. While observing the graininess of a paper, we must also observe whether its sharpness, color saturation, maximum density, and darkness level decline, and then decide whether or not to choose it is more comprehensive.

3. Can be coated with printing paper when printing photos
Many users feel that this technique of laminating films has lost the traditional beauty of photographs. Actually, the advantages of the coated paper are many, mainly water-proof and fade-resistance. Another point is that a film with a low refractive index can be applied to photos. Significantly reduce the reflection of photos, increase the permeability. It is similar to the lens coating. Therefore, it is right to choose a film to protect our good memories.

The last point is to not blindly believe in printing software. Many manufacturers claim that they can improve the adaptability of paper and printers in the software included in the printer. In fact, this is limited. When you have already reduced the printing speed, the dark part has a lot of ink beads that absorb unevenness, and changing the dot distribution with software is not useful. Even a further drop of 50% at this time has no decisive significance. Therefore, at this point, we can only say that some software can play a role, but we cannot rely on them to improve paper.
