According to the actual test results, a system is configured as: a mainstream Xeon single-CPU, 1GB memory middle-tier server, which can load about 60 concurrent users or about 200 Web clients. When the number of concurrency is exceeded, it can be solved by upgrading the hardware configuration of the server. When the configuration of a single server still cannot meet the performance requirements, multiple middle-tier servers are needed for distributed processing. Therefore, we recommend configuring a middle-tier server for every 60-100 GUI clients or every 200 Web clients.

In the application environment of the local area network, the network bandwidth generally does not become a performance bottleneck, and the following principles should be followed when performing network design and deployment:
The client and middle layer should be placed in the same subnet as much as possible. This can reduce the DCOM call overhead from the client to the server.
The bandwidth of the client and the middle layer should be at least 10M.
The bandwidth from the middle layer to the database side should be at least 100M. Because the middle tier will access the database server very frequently, the middle tier can use dual network cards, one of which is in the same subnet as the database and provides high-speed connection bandwidth.
