Japan to improve the oxygen sensor food safety will be more secure

Ben compile reports Mitsui & Co (Mitsui), Japanese manufacturers WonderKeep oxygen scavenger, are re-developing a measure oxygen sensor WonderSensor. It can make it easier for users to read the change of oxygen content in the package.

WonderSensor (miracle sensor), once put on the market in 2003, is currently undergoing improvement. The goal of improvement is to indicate that the color can change to a bright blue color when the level of oxygen in the package exceeds a specified level. The WonderSensor is hidden in a sticker that is attached to the inside of the package and is activated whenever oxygen leaks into the package. The sensor will enable retailers and consumers to ensure that the food they buy can be safely consumed and the oxygen scavenger is at work.

AMPS is a European supplier of WonderKeep oxygen absorbers. AMPS general manager Alan Montgomery said that the product will be launched in the Japanese market in the next two months and hopes to use it in the European market by the end of 2004. At present, the price of the sensor is still unknown.

WonderKeep is an iron-based oxygen scavenger, which is produced in the form of pouches and is mainly used to extend the shelf life of fresh meat products and dried meat products.
