U.S. New High Barrier Metallized Polyester Film Releases Better Barrier Properties

According to foreign media reports, FlexFilms, a US-based film processor, has developed a new high barrier metallized polyester film with better metal adhesion and better barrier properties in harsh environments. The price is lower than metallized polyester film before and it is very cost-effective.

Metallized polyester films have become increasingly popular due to their high barrier properties in laminating flexible packaging structures. However, poor adhesion of the metal to the base polyester film can cause lamination failure, which can affect product performance.

Films with high metal adhesion have good high barrier properties and are currently available in harsh environments, but their applications are very limited and expensive. To solve this problem, Flex Films, a Kentucky-based company, designed a high barrier metalized polyester film, FLEXMETPROTECTF-HMB.
